Energy Efficiencies The cyclical replacement of major operating plant equipment is
being done utilizing high efficiency rated
equipment. This applies to the heating & cooling plants, ventilation equipment,
drive motors and other major infrastructure. In addition…DePaul is committed to
the continued installation and improvement of its building automation system,
which allows for the more efficient operation of all plant equipment in a manner
that cuts run time and reduces energy consumption. Preventive maintenance
practices help to keep all equipment in optimal operating condition, which
ultimately serves to reduce energy and carbon emissions. To date, all primary
lighting systems have been retrofitted to high efficiency ballasts and energy
saving fluorescent lamps. Wherever possible, incandescent and flood lamps have
been replaced by compact florescent lamps. Solar lighting systems have been
installed at key exterior locations on campus, with more to follow in the
future. |
